MP Tours Bailey Theatre


Kevin Sorenson, MP Crowfoot Constituency donned hard hat and steel toed boots recently to check progress on the restoration of the Bailey Theatre.
He was toured through the building by Bailey Theatre Society President Dan Olofson (left) and Vice-President Ross Shuman (right).

The City of Camrose has committed $500,000 towards the restoration of the Bailey.
The first cheque for $250,000 was presented today.
In the photo are l-r, Bailey board member Patricia Fielding, Bailey board President Dan Olofson, Camrose Mayor Clarence Mastel and City Councillor Daryl Shillington.
The remaining $250,000 from the City will be presented when the project is 90-percent completed.

We keep learning more about Camille David who had the theatre built in 1910-11.

Beaudry, Corinne (1876-) was living in Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu in 1901. Born in Beloeil. Daughter of Jean-Baptiste Beaudry and Pierre Guertin. She married Camille David at Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu in 1901.

Brad (the plumber) is finishing up the plumbing runs through the basement of the theatre.
In the next few weeks the general contractor will prepare the basement for a new concrete slab. Most of the workm in the theatre since October has taken place in the basement where new concrete footings, foundations and walls have already been poured.

As the masons complete repairs to the top of the brick wall on the north side of the stage, other construction workers are putting up the studs for the new wall above the brick at the back of the stage.

Masons are working on the alley side of the theatre cleaning and re-bricking the top of the back wall of the auditorium.
Also construction workers are framing the spaces for the smoke hatches over the stage which are required by the building code.
